Question If children access my company's Web site, do we have to do anything special?

Question Yes, if the site collects personal information, such as name, address, e-mail address or telephone number, from children under 13. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) went into effect in April 2000. It requires certain Web sites to obtain parental consent before collecting personal information and to include a prominent privacy notice with information about who gets what types of information and for what purpose. Web sites in this category must comply or face civil penalties. The FTC is monitoring.
